Served eight years at Haas & Kennedy Engineers as a Senior Design Engineer in charge of design and C.A.D. drafting of schematic design development and construction documents for lighting, power and communications systems in institutional, commercial, houses of worship, retail, civic and industrial building projects. Visited job sites to survey existing conditions and perform construction administration. Oversaw design and drafting staff in the completion of contract documents. Interacted with Architects, owners and other trade Engineers to coordinate design parameters. Developed spreadsheets to aide in performing routine engineering calculations. Some projects designed while at H.&K. include: “Fifth and Poplar” mixed-use Condominiums/Retail, 230 South Tryon Condominiums, Harrisburg Fire Station #2, Cherokee County Wellness Center, Various educational projects for Mecklenburg County Schools, as well as several Universities and Community Colleges in North Carolina.
In 2007 founded Corban Engineering Company, PC. Corban Engineering specialized in the design of interior and exterior lighting, power, distribution, telecommunications, low-voltage and fire alarm systems for university/educational, retail, resort/hotel/motel, multi-family/multi-use, industrial, municipal, church, commercial/office/tenant, medical and financial buildings. Corban Engineering also offered electrical construction commissioning services. Some projects designed while at Corban include: High Point University Multiplex Buildings 1 & 2, Newell Elementary School-Additions and Renovations, Numerous CVS Stores in NC, SC, GA, AL, TN and MD, “210 Trade” and “300 S. Tryon” high-rise multi-use Condominiums/Retail/Office, Manufacturing Solutions Center, Casar Volunteer Fire Station, New Creation Church, Lancaster Children’s Clinic, Caromont Gaston Day Urgent Care/Family Practice, Caromont Glenway St. Accounting Dept. Building Renovations, 212 S. Tryon (Johnston Building) – numerous Tenant Upfits, Fort Jackson Ammo Yard, Eglin A.F.B., Dental Clinic HVAC Renovations.
