Experience

Served three years as a design engineer with General Dynamics (Defense Contractor) in Ontario, CA. Design of cryogenics system (detector chip cooling system) for the RAM heat-seeking missile, design drawings and test procedures, prototype testing management, and presentations to armed forces personnel.

Served eight years as a Vice President of United Mechanical Corporation in Charlotte, NC (HVAC Contractor). Controls troubleshooting, HVAC systems design and pricing, service department employee management, technical training seminars development and instruction, customer problem resolution, new customer prospecting, service contract sales, budgets, and sales projection planning.

Served three years as senior design engineer at Peterson Associates in Charlotte, NC (Architects/Engineers). Hospital HVAC and plumbing system design; including drafting, specifications, project pricing review, DFS inspections, coordination of equipment selections with vendors.

Served eight years as senior design engineer at Mechanical Contractors, Inc., Charlotte, NC (Mechanical Contractor/Engineers). HVAC systems design for office buildings, schools, labs, and industrial facilities; including drafting, specifications, express reviews, cost analysis, and project estimating.

Has served as Principal of Shultz Engineering Group since 2007. HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design for church buildings, hospitals, office buildings, retail buildings, schools, labs, and industrial facilities; including design documents, specifications, commissioning, energy assessments, energy audits, energy models, cost analysis, and project estimating.

ASHRAE Excellence in Technology Award winning projects include Salvation Army Regional Office Building, Time Warner Adcast, Mountain Neurology Medical Office Building, Piedmont Town Center, Fayetteville Festival, AN Restaurant, Union Academy, Matthews Senior Center, Duke Power Advanced Cooking Technology Center, Biltmore Two Town Square, Longview Country Club, and Belk Department Store in Kissimmee, FL. Additional projects include Forsyth Cancer Center Medical Office Building, multiple projects at Moore Regional and Northeast Medical hospitals, NASCAR Institute of Technology, Charlotte Christian School, Biltmore One Town Square Office Building, Vanderbilt South Medical Office Building, NorthPoint Office Building, Davidson 30 Office Building, Birkdale Village, Matthews Senior Center, and other multiple church buildings, office buildings, retail buildings, and flex buildings in all areas of the United States.
