Experience

Served three years as a CAD operator and engineering designer for MEPS Associates, in Charlotte, NC, on retail, military, church and educational facilities projects.

Served ten years as project engineer, project manager and design studio head for Talbot and Associates, Consulting Engineers, Inc., Charlotte, NC. Projects personally designed include Fire Station No. 10, Charlotte, NC, Catawba Valley Community College Classrooms and Multimedia Center (renovation of existing building), Taylorsville, NC; Regal Cinemas multiplex theaters (some including IMAX theaters) throughout the US; Lowe’s, Inc. Data Center Expansion, North Wilkesboro, NC; and Tire Kingdom’s Corporate Headquarters in Juno Beach, FL.

Other projects personally designed include retail facilities for Eckerd, Pier One Imports, Walgreen’s, Tire Kingdom, Hannaford Food Stores, Hobby Lobby, Gander Mountain Sporting Equipment, non-chain retail shopping and restaurant facilities throughout the country; multifamily/mixed use projects from New Jersey to Florida; office, medical office, and church facilities in the Carolinas, and hospital MRI and CAT scan upfits in the Carolinas and Virginia.

Joined Shultz Engineering Group, PC in 2003 as Senior Vice President and partner. Recent projects include New Automotive Sales and Service Facility for Mercedes Benz, Pineville, NC; 125,000 SF Retail Development for Koury Corporation, Greensboro, NC; New Headquarters Building for Background Investigation Bureau, Inc., Charlotte, NC; City Courts Apartment Complex, Lexington, KY; Renovation for New Generator/Compressor Test Facility for Copco, Inc., Fort Mill, SC; Biomedical Lab Renovation to BSL-3 Level Facility, renovations to Hydronic systems in existing Mecklenburg County Buildings.
